WPC Leadership Honored
WPC 2016 Steering Committee member, Professor Nancy Ip, Dean of Science, The Morningside Professor of Life Science and Director of the State Key Laboratory of Molecular Neuroscience at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, has been elected as Foreign Associate of the US National Academy of Science (NAS).

The NAS is the oldest and most prestigious scientific organization in the United States, established under a congressional charter signed by President Abraham Lincoln in 1863. Professor Ip, renowned for her research in neural development and functions as well as drug discovery for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, is the only foreign associate from China among the 84 new members and 21 foreign associates elected this year.

WPC President, Dr. Serge Przedborski, was delighted with the news. "WPC is honored to have a leading scholar like Professor Ip working with us to plan the WPC 2016. We rely on the input form the most recognized scientists, clinicians, and people with Parkinson's to ensure the program is dynamic and meaningful to the community. Having leadership like Professor Ip working with us will ensure the overall experience at the WPC 2016 is as impactful and meaningful as it can be to the Parkinson's community.
