About the Research Spotlight Series

This series highlights six scientists each year who interviewed by WPC President, Professor Roger Barker about their work, how they got to where they are in their careers, and how their research will impact the lives of people with Parkinson's.

As the first organization that brought all Parkinson’s stakeholders to the table, WPC realized early on that basic scientists and people with Parkinson’s rarely cross paths, and yet, having these key members of the community better connected is paramount to advancing our understanding of Parkinson’s science. These interviews help demystify the work scientists are doing and to help the community better understand that their Parkinson’s team includes scientists who they often know little about, but who are working day and night in their labs and research centers to support people living with Parkinson's.
